The 2011 edition of Cork Film Festival presents a focus dedicated to the Portuguese filmmaker Edgar Pêra that includes the screening of many of his films already exhibited at IndieLisboa.
From November 7th to 13th, five programmes will give an insight on Pêra’s work, in the widest international retrospective done outside Portugal. In 2006, Edgar Pêra was IndieLisboa’s Independent Hero and won two awards with his film Perpetual Movements – the Best Portuguese Feature Film and the Public Award for a Feature Film.
The Cork Festival programmes include this film but also: Manual of Evasion Lisbon 94, Who is the Master Who Makes the Grass Green?, A Janela (Maryalva Mix), Impending Doom – exhibited in IndieLisboa’06 – and Muddy River, screened in IndieLisboa’07. The Baron, Pêra’s most recent film that premiered nationally at IndieLisboa’11 will also be presented in the Irish festival, on Wednesday’s Gala (November 9th).
The 56th edition of Cork Film Festival takes place in this Irish city from November 6th to 13th 2011.
