INDIELISBOA is a privileged event to meet the most recent and interesting works of independent cinema from all over the world.
The main aim of the Festival is to discover new films and new directors, in the universe of independent cinema.
Keeping its attention on the author's creativity and independence, in four years INDIELISBOA was able to become the most important Portuguese festival.

IndieLisboa 2008: Ending Ceremony happens today



It´s a free world, Ken Loach


The ending ceremony of the 5th International Independent Film Festival happens today at 09.30 p.m., in Cinema São Jorge, where the winner films will be announced. After that will be screened the film “It´s a Free World”, by Ken Loach.
But before that don´t miss another screening of “The Substitute”, by Ole Bornedal, in Fórum Lisboa, at 04.00 p.m. Later, at 09.45 p.m, pay special attention to another film by José Luis Guerín, one of the three Independent Heroes of this edition of the festival. “En La Ciudad de Sylvia”, in Cinema Londres.
Meanwhile, at 10.00 p.m., in Fórum Lisboa, opportunity to see “Avant que J´Oublie”, by Jacques Nolot.
And tonight don´t miss the ending party at Cabaret Maxime.


IndieLisboa 2008: Portuguese films on the top



“Memories”, Eugène Green


This edition of the festival already has more than ten full sessions and a daily average of spectators of 3219 (a hundred more than in last edition). The most seen films are “My Blueberry Nights”, by Wong Kar Wai, “Happy Go Lucky”, by Mike Leigh, “Joy Division”, de Grant Gee, “Mister Lonely”, de Harmony Korine, “Go Go Tales”, by Abel Ferrara, “Uprise”, by Sandro Aguilar and “Sleepwalking Land”, by Teresa Prata.
Today don´t miss another screening of “Memories”, by Harun Farocki, Pedro Costa and Eugène Green. In Teatro Maria Matos, at 07.15 p.m. Later, in the same place, at 09.45 p.m. pay special attention to “Import Export”, by Ulrich Seidl. Also to see once again the documentary about the group Gorilaz, “Bananaz”, by Ceri Levy, at 10.00 p.m., in Fórum Lisboa.
Pay also attention to another talk, this time about “The New Romanian Cinema”. At 05.00 p.m., in Teatro Maria Matos, Laurentiu Damian, from the UNATC, university where the filmmakers from the new romanian cinematography have studied, will talk about the new romanian cinema. Free entrance.




One week after it´s begining the cinema party goes on




The 5th edition of International Independent Film Festival reaches today the seven day, with many full screenings, many Lisbon Talks and two public talks with the Independent Heroes Johnnie To and José Luis Guerín. Today pay special attention to the workshop FX – Special Efects, in Cinema São Jorge, at 05.30 p.m.
Also to see another film from the International Competition “Momma´s Man”, at 07.00 p.m., at Cinema São Jorge. At the same place, but at 09.30 p.m don´t miss “Let the Right One In”, by Tomas Alfredson. And at 10.00 p.m., in Fórum Lisboa, pay attention to “Green Porno”, by Jody Shapiro and Isabella Rossellini and “My Winnipeg”, de Guy Madin.
And by night don´t miss the party in Maxime Cabaret, with the romanian group Nightlosers. It starts at 11 p.m.
