INDIELISBOA is a privileged event to meet the most recent and interesting works of independent cinema from all over the world. The main aim of the Festival is to discover new films and new directors, in the universe of independent cinema.

InIndieLisboa is by now, the biggest film festival in Portugal, not only because is the festival that attracts the biggest audience (35.500 people in the last edition), but also because it’s the one that presents more films (226), makes more screenings (265) and uses more screens (9)

IndieLisboa, which is held in Lisbon, one of the most fascinating European capitals, is acknowledged for its warm reception to all guests.

Past visitors include: Hal Hartley, Romuald Karmakar, Shinji Ayoama, Simon Fiels, Natacha Regnier, Tan Chui Mui, Hans Hurch, William E. Jones, Laurent Achard, Caveh Zahedi, Timo Novotni, John Cooper, Emmanuel Burdeau, Melvil Poupaud, Andrew Bujalski, Jay Rosenblatt , Pablo Stoll, Jukka Pekka Laakso, Bertrand Loute, Quintín (Eduardo Antin), Ross Kauffman, Jia Zhangke, Ilya Khrzhanovsky, Eugène Green, Ken Wardrop, Olaf Möller, Ilda Santiago, Margaret Von Schiller, Kieron Corless, Alicia Scherson, Lisandro Alonso, Nobuhiro Suwa, Albertina Carri, Michael Glawogger, Perry Ogden, amongst many others.

Next April, IndieLisboa will feature once again, in addition to its international competition of short and feature films, national and international premieres, IndieJúnior (a special children films section), round-tables, panels, exhibitions and, of course, parties!
