ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW é a sua primeira longa-metragem e passará em antestreia nacional no IndieLisboa. Premiado em Sundance e Cannes, mais do que uma comédia romântica, o filme é antes de mais um estudo delicado das relações humanas e das dificuldades de comunicação. Em ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW, July é Christine, uma aspirante a artista e condutora de um táxi para idosos, que um dia se apaixona por Richard, um vendedor de sapatos recém-divorciado e pai de dois rapazes: um adolescente, Peter, e uma criança de sete anos, Robby (prestem-lhe bem atenção). Miranda July observa com minúcia e ternura esta galeria de personagens inadaptadas sediada num subúrbio de Los Angeles. A visão de July combina transgressão e inocência, numa obra frágil e corajosa.

Me and You and Everyone We Know is a poetic and penetrating observation of how people struggle to connect with one another in an isolating and contemporary world. Christine Jesperson is a lonely artist and “Eldercab” driver who uses her fantastical artistic visions to draw her aspirations and objects of desire closer to her. Richard Swersey (John Hawkes), a newly single shoe salesman and father of two boys, is prepared for amazing things to happen. But when he meets the captivating Christine, he panics. Life is not so oblique for Richard's seven-year-old Robby, who is having a risqué internet romance with a stranger, and his fourteen- year-old brother Peter who becomes the guinea pig for neighborhood girls— practicing for their future of romance and marriage.

As suas curtas-metragens ( Haysha Royko, The Amateurist, Nest of Tens, Getting Stronger Every Day) foram já mostradas no MoMA e no Museu Guggenheim. As suas performances multi-media (Love Diamond, The Swan Tool, How I Learned to Draw) foram apresentadas no Institute of Contemporary Art, em Londres, e no The Kitchen, em Nova Iorque. Os seus contos podem ser lidos na Paris Review e na Harvard Review. ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW, galardoado com o prémio Camera D’Or (para melhor primeira obra) no Festival de Cannes, é a sua primeira longa-metragem.

Miranda July makes movies, performances, recordings and combinations of these things. Her short movies ( Haysha Royko, The Amateurist, Nest of Tens, Getting Stronger Every Day) have been screened internationally at sites such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum. July's multimedia performances (Love Diamond, The Swan Tool, How I Learned to Draw) have been presented at venues such as the Institute of Contemporary Art in London and The Kitchen in New York. July's stories can be read in The Paris Review and The Harvard Review and her radio performances can be heard regularly on NPR's The Next Big Thing. ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW, awarded with the Camera D’Or in Cannes Film Festival, is July’s first feature-length film.
