Seman é um homem solitário de meia idade. Os seus dias são passados ou à janela de um modesto apartamento ou vasculhando no lixo em busca de surpreendentes tesouros recicláveis. Invariavelmente de calções e chinelos, e com um cigarro ao canto da boca, Seman não hesita em meter-se com os transeuntes oferecendo-lhes uma boa piada, um ou outro bom conselho ou, até mesmo, uma incompreensível tirada filosófica. Seman sente-se particularmente atraído por uma das vizinhas que lhe devota algum carinho e atenção. Mas Seman tem um lado mais negro, fruto de pesadelos, alucinações e fantasias. Seman é o protagonista deste SHARK IN THE HEAD, primeira longa da checa Maria Procházkóva. O filme, que mistura imagem real e animação, é não só uma bizarra viagem ao interior da mente de um esquizofrénico mas também uma delicada meditação sobre a solidão.

A funny guy, a little crazy in the head, lives alone in the city. Seman is a little bit strange, but he’s no stranger to his neighbours. Seman is a single, middle-aged man in his slippers, in boxers and undershirt, cigarette in hand spends. Seman spends all his days looking out the window, talking to people. Seman is charming, but quite strange. A beautiful woman, who lives around the corner, walks by everyday... and then something changes. There is no way of stopping the shark in the head.

Estudou cinema de animação na FAMU, em Praga, Além de ter realizado vários filmes de publicidade, dirigiu também várias curtas-metragens de animação. SHARK IN THE HEAD é a sua primeira longa-metragem.

Studied film animation at the Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague. In addition to directing many music videos and commercials, she has made several short animated films. SHARK IN THE HEAD is her first feature film.
