REGULATIONS
Preamble
Lisbon’s International Independent Film Festival
(IndieLisboa) aims to contribute for the discovery
and revelation of new films and new directors in
Portugal, within independent cinema, both national
and international.
Article
1
(Objective)
IndieLisboa intends to stimulate public exhibition
of films, which are neither distributed nor exhibited
within Portugal’s traditional circuits.

(Dates)
IndieLisboa will be held between April 21st and
May 1st 2005.

3
(How to apply)
1. To apply to the IndieLisboa’s Official
Competition, all films must fill the following conditions:
- fiction, animation, documentaries and experimental
short and feature films;
- first and sophomore films;
- 35mm, 16mm and video;
- produced in 2004 or 2005;
- first public presentation in Portugal during this
festival.
2. To apply to the Observatory Section, films must
fill the following conditions:
- fiction, animation, documentary and experimental
short and feature films;
- 35mm, 16mm and video;
- produced in 2004 or 2005.
3. The Festival may decide, exceptionally, to select
films that do not fill these conditions.

4
(Subtitling)
1. All selected films will be screened with Portuguese
and English subtitles.
2. Portuguese films will be screened with English
subtitles.Article 5
(Official Competition Jury)
1. The Official Competition Jury will be composed
by five recognized personalities of the cinematographic
milieu, of which at least one should be Portuguese.
2. Personalities with direct interest in the production
and/or exploitation of the films presented within
the Official Competition cannot integrate the Jury.

(Awards)
1. The awards comprehend a trophy, a diploma and
money.
2. The Official Competition Jury will attribute
the following awards:
- Feature Film Grand Prize, in the amount of 5.000
euros;
- Short Film Grand Prize, in the amount of 2.500
euros;
- Best Cinematography Prize (amount to be announced)
- Best Portuguese Film, awarded to the director
(amount to be announced)
2. The Official Competition Jury may also attribute
honourable mentions, when these are justified.
3. The Audience Jury (which is constituted by the
audience of the Official competition and the Observatory
sections) will attribute the following awards:
- Feature Film Prize (amount to be announced);
- Short Film Prize (amount to be announced).

(Submitting)
1. The submission should be done, preferentially,
online in www.indielisboa.com.
2. To confirm your submission please send to IndieLisboa,
Rua Gonçalves Crespo, 56, 1º, 1150-158 Lisboa,
Portugal the following data:
Until 21st February 2005 (for selection)
Copy/Receipt of the online registration
Portuguese or English Synopsis (max. 40 words)
VHS/DVD PAL, with English subtitles (in case of
non-Portuguese films)
Dialogue List
Film and director’s picture
Director’s biography and filmography
Until 12th April 2005 (for exhibition)
A print of the selected film (in the requested exhibition
format)
Posters, postcards, EPK (electronic press kit) and
other promotional materials.

8
(Film staying)
All films screened during the festival must remain
there until its ending, and will be returned only
after the closing ceremony.

9
(Transportation)
1. The transportation costs of the VHS/ DVD for
selection are the entire responsibility of the film’s
candidate.
2. The selected print transportation costs (round
trip), as well as its insurance, are the Festival’s
responsability, except when the film is sent to
another festival. In this case, IndieLisboa will
pay only for the print’s arrival, as accorded
in all international film festivals.

10
(Insurances)
All films insurances are the entire responsibility
of the Festival, since its arrival and until its
return.
Article 11
(Publicity)
The producer (and/or the owner of the exhibition
rights of the movie in festivals) that has been
awarded during this festival must compromise and
mention IndieLisboa in all publicity and press/promotion
materials produced right after the attribution of
the prize to the film.

(Acceptance)
Participation in the Festival implies acceptance
of all the afore-mentioned regulations and respect
of the present regulation.

13
(Omitted cases)
The Festival’s Direction will decide regarding
all issues not included in the present regulation,
according to the international rules of Film Festivals.
